This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) complies with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, and other applicable privacy and data protection laws.
This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service and applies to all users of our Platform, including our website (www.helprr.co), mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
1.2 Scope
This Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the personal information of:
- Individuals who create or use accounts on the Helprr Platform (“Users”), including Task Posters and Task Providers (Helpers).
- Visitors to our website, marketing pages, or support channels.
- Individuals who communicate with Helprr for inquiries, partnerships, or support.
“Personal information” means any information about an identifiable individual, as defined under applicable privacy laws. This includes your name, address, email, payment details, and data about your use of the Service. It does not include business contact information or anonymized data.
1.3 Updates
We may modify this Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on our website with a “Last Updated” date. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or in-app message before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after such notice means you accept the updated Policy.
2. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect personal information directly from you, automatically from your device, and through trusted third-party partners (e.g., Stripe). We only collect what is reasonable and necessary to operate, secure, and improve our Service.
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect:
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, postal address, user ID, and profile photo.
- Identity Verification: date of birth, government-issued ID, or selfie, for Stripe verification or trust and safety purposes.
- Commercial & Payment Information: partial payment details, payout preferences, banking information (handled by Stripe Payments Canada Ltd.).
- Task Details: descriptions, categories, pricing, photos, and communications between Task Posters and Task Providers (Helpers).
- Support & Correspondence: messages, attachments, feedback, and reports you send to us.
- Optional Information: ratings, reviews, and optional profile content.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use Helprr, we automatically collect:
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, mobile carrier, and device identifiers.
- Usage Data: pages visited, searches, interactions, session length, and time stamps.
- Geolocation: if you enable location services, we may collect precise or approximate location data to match nearby tasks.
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: used for authentication, analytics, and service improvement.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive:
- Stripe Data: identity verification, banking information, fraud prevention results.
- Analytics Data: anonymized usage metrics from Google Analytics or similar vendors.
- Background Checks: through authorized vendors (with your consent).
- Social Logins: If you sign in using Google or Apple, we may receive basic profile information associated with your account such as your name and email address. When using Sign in with Apple, users may choose to share their email address or use Apple’s private email relay service to keep their email address hidden.
3. USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
3.1 Purposes of Use
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Helprr Platform and related services.
- Verify identity and prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity.
- Facilitate payments and escrow through Stripe Connect.
- Communicate confirmations, updates, receipts, and customer support messages.
- Personalize user experience and recommend relevant services or Helpers.
- Improve and develop our products, analytics, and functionality.
- Send marketing communications (only with your consent under CASL).
- Comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage risk and respond to complaints, chargebacks, or disputes.
Maintain trust and safety within the Helprr marketplace, including reviewing user activity, resolving disputes, and enforcing platform policies.
We will request additional consent if we intend to use your information for any new purpose not identified above.
3.2 Disclosure of Personal Information
We may share personal information:
- With other users: necessary for task fulfillment (e.g., name, rating, and limited contact information).
- With service providers: cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, background checks, and payment processors.
- Payment Processors: With third-party payment processors such as Stripe Payments Canada Ltd. and Apple Pay to securely process payments, facilitate payouts, and verify transactions.
- With authorities: to comply with legal obligations, investigations, or enforce our Terms of Service.
- In business transactions: mergers, acquisitions, or asset transfers.
- With your consent: or when you direct us to do so.
Whenever we share information, we limit disclosure to what is necessary and ensure recipients uphold comparable confidentiality standards.
4. CONSENT
4.1 Obtaining Consent
We collect, use, and disclose personal information only with your informed consent, except where authorized or required by law. Your consent may be express (e.g., clicking “I agree”) or implied (e.g., continuing to use the Service after notice).
4.2 Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting support@helprr.co, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawal may limit or prevent your ability to use certain features of the Service.
5. STORAGE AND RETENTION
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:
- Fulfill the purposes for which it was collected;
- Satisfy legal, tax, and regulatory requirements (typically up to 7 years); or
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
After this period, data is securely deleted or anonymized per our Data Retention and Disposal Policy.
6. SAFEGUARDS
We maintain reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information, including:
- Encrypted HTTPS communications;
- Secure credential storage and password hashing;
- Role-based access control and logging;
- Regular vulnerability scanning and security testing;
- Employee confidentiality and data-handling training.
Despite these safeguards, no online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access.
7. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Helprr stores most data in Canada, but may transfer it to trusted service providers in other jurisdictions. Data in these jurisdictions is subject to the laws of those regions and may be accessible to their authorities.
We use contractual protections (including Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure transferred data receives equivalent protection.
8. YOUR RIGHTS
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you;
- Request corrections or updates;
- Withdraw consent (subject to legal restrictions);
- Request how your data has been used or disclosed;
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. ACCOUNT DELETION
Helprr provides users with the ability to permanently delete their account directly within the application.
Users can delete their account by navigating to:
Profile → Account Information → Delete Account
Once a deletion request is confirmed:
• The user account will be permanently removed from the platform
• Personal profile information will be deleted
• Associated task history, communications, or user-generated content may be removed or anonymized
Certain information may be retained where required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
10. BREACH NOTIFICATION
Helprr maintains a Breach Response Playbook consistent with PIPEDA’s Real Risk of Significant Harm (RROSH) standard. If a data breach occurs that could pose harm:
- We will notify affected individuals promptly;
- Report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner; and
- Maintain internal breach records for at least 24 months.
11. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Helprr is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect or store information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us immediately at support@helprr.co for deletion.
12. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Helprr uses cookies, SDKs, web beacons, and analytics scripts to:
- Maintain secure sessions and logins;
- Analyze Platform performance;
- Improve experience and detect fraud;
- Measure advertising performance and marketing campaigns (subject to user consent where required)
You can disable non-essential cookies through browser settings.
Essential cookies are required for core functionality and cannot be disabled.
13. APP TRACKING TRANSPARENCY
Helprr follows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
Before collecting any data used to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes, Helprr will request permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt.
If permission is granted, certain information may be used to:
Measure advertising performance
Improve marketing campaigns
Understand user engagement with the Platform
If permission is denied, Helprr will not track users across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Users may change their tracking permissions at any time through their device settings.
12. ACCESSIBILITY
Helprr complies with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and strives to make our digital services accessible to all users.
